Last Updated: August 4, 2026

Welcome to Target Box Container Sales. This Warranty Policy explains the warranty coverage, guarantees, exclusions, limitations, and warranty claim procedures that apply to shipping containers, container homes, modular buildings, refrigerated containers, and custom container solutions purchased through www.targetboxcontainersales.com.

Our warranties are designed to provide confidence in your purchase by clearly outlining what is covered, what is excluded, and how warranty claims are handled.

This Warranty Policy is provided in addition to any rights you may have under applicable Canadian consumer protection laws and does not limit any statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded.

By purchasing products from Target Box Container Sales, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Warranty Policy together with our Terms of Service, Shipping Policy, Payment Policy, Returns & Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and Sales Tax Policy.

This Warranty Policy has been rewritten specifically for Target Box Container Sales based on the structure of the uploaded Warranty Policy and customized for Canadian customers.

Warranty coverage depends on the type, condition, and configuration of the product purchased.

3. New Container Warranty

New (One-Trip) shipping containers include the original manufacturer’s warranty where applicable, together with Target Box Container Sales’ delivery condition guarantee.

At the time of delivery, every new container is guaranteed to be:

  • Structurally sound
  • Cargo Worthy
  • Wind & Watertight
  • Free from material manufacturing defects affecting normal use
  • Equipped with fully functioning doors and locking hardware
  • Fitted with an intact marine-grade plywood floor (where applicable)

Where a manufacturer’s warranty applies, Target Box Container Sales will assist customers with the warranty claim process by providing the necessary purchase documentation and product information.

4. Used Container Warranty (Wind & Watertight Guarantee)

All qualifying used shipping containers are sold with our Wind & Watertight (WWT) Guarantee.

At the time of delivery, we guarantee that qualifying used containers will:

  • Be wind and watertight.
  • Have functional cargo doors.
  • Include structurally sound flooring.
  • Be free from holes that compromise normal storage use.
  • Remain suitable for secure storage and general commercial applications.

Our standard Wind & Watertight Guarantee applies for 30 days from the date of delivery, unless otherwise stated in writing.

Because used containers have previously been in service, the following are considered normal characteristics and are not warranty defects:

  • Surface rust
  • Paint fading
  • Minor dents
  • Scratches
  • Previous shipping labels
  • Cosmetic wear
  • Normal signs of prior use

Where available, condition photographs and inspection information may be provided before purchase.

5. Modified & Custom Container Warranty

Target Box Container Sales provides a Limited Workmanship Warranty on eligible custom modifications performed by our team.

Custom projects may include:

  • Container Homes
  • Office Containers

  • Custom Modular Buildings
  • Specialty Fabrication Projects

Our workmanship warranty generally covers defects resulting from modifications completed by Target Box Container Sales, including:

  • Door installations
  • Window installations
  • Welding
  • Framing
  • Electrical installations
  • Plumbing rough-ins
  • HVAC installations
  • Insulation
  • Interior finishing
  • Exterior paint applied by our team

Unless otherwise stated in writing, our workmanship warranty is provided for one (1) year from the date of delivery.

The original container shell remains covered under the applicable new-container warranty or Wind & Watertight Guarantee, depending on the product purchased.

6. Refrigerated (Reefer) Container Warranty

Refrigerated containers supplied by Target Box Container Sales are inspected before delivery to help ensure they are:

  • Wind & Watertight
  • Structurally sound
  • Operational at the time of delivery
  • Capable of reaching the specified operating temperature range during pre-delivery testing

Where refrigeration equipment is covered by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), warranty claims relating to the refrigeration system are governed by the manufacturer’s warranty terms.

Target Box Container Sales will assist customers by providing available purchase documentation and product information to support eligible manufacturer warranty claims.

To maintain warranty eligibility, refrigerated containers must be installed, operated, and maintained according to the manufacturer’s operating instructions.

7. Structural Warranty

The Structural Warranty applies to the primary load-bearing components of eligible containers.

Covered structural components may include:

  • Corner posts
  • Corner castings
  • Roof rails
  • Bottom rails
  • Cross-members
  • Steel wall panels
  • Roof panels
  • Structural framing
  • Primary welded shell

The Structural Warranty protects against defects that materially affect the container’s structural integrity during normal intended use.

Warranty periods depend on the type of container purchased and any applicable manufacturer warranty.

Structural damage resulting from misuse, unauthorized modifications, accidents, improper installation, natural disasters, or customer negligence is not covered under this Warranty Policy.

8. Workmanship Warranty

Target Box Container Sales provides a Limited Workmanship Warranty covering the quality of labor and workmanship performed by our team on eligible modified and custom-built container projects.

This warranty generally applies to work completed directly by Target Box Container Sales, including:

  • Structural modifications
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Door installations
  • Window installations
  • Framing
  • Electrical wiring installed by our technicians
  • Plumbing rough-ins
  • HVAC installations
  • Spray foam and insulation installation
  • Interior wall and ceiling finishes
  • Exterior painting performed by our team

If a defect in our workmanship is identified during the applicable warranty period, we will inspect the issue and, where the claim is approved, repair or replace the affected workmanship at no additional cost to the customer, or provide another appropriate remedy in accordance with this Warranty Policy.

9. Manufacturer Warranty

Certain products and components supplied by Target Box Container Sales may also be covered by the original manufacturer’s warranty.

Examples include:

  • Refrigeration systems
  • HVAC equipment
  • Electrical components
  • Doors and windows
  • Appliances
  • Solar systems
  • Generators
  • Other third-party manufactured products

Where a manufacturer’s warranty applies, the manufacturer’s warranty terms and conditions will govern coverage for that component.

Target Box Container Sales will assist customers by providing:

  • Purchase documentation
  • Product serial numbers
  • Warranty registration information (where available)
  • Supporting documentation needed to submit an eligible manufacturer warranty claim

Final approval of manufacturer warranty claims remains the responsibility of the original manufacturer.

13. Normal Wear & Tear

Shipping containers are industrial products designed for long-term commercial use.

Examples include:

  • Paint fading
  • Surface oxidation
  • Minor rust
  • Small scratches
  • Minor dents
  • Aging of door seals
  • Weathering
  • Minor floor wear
  • Cosmetic marks from previous service (used containers)

These conditions generally do not affect the structural integrity or intended use of the container.

Customers are encouraged to perform routine maintenance to help preserve the appearance and longevity of their container.

14. Cosmetic Imperfections

Minor cosmetic imperfections may be present on both new and used containers.

Examples include:

New Containers

  • Minor paint variations
  • Small transportation scratches
  • Factory handling marks
  • Minor cosmetic blemishes

Used Containers

  • Surface rust

  • Normal industrial wear

Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect structural integrity, weather resistance, security, or normal operation are not covered under this Warranty Policy.

Customers purchasing used containers acknowledge that reasonable cosmetic wear is a normal characteristic of previously used equipment.

15. Customer Maintenance Responsibilities

To maintain warranty coverage and maximize the lifespan of your shipping container, customers are responsible for performing reasonable routine maintenance.

We recommend that customers:

  • Place the container on a stable, level, and properly supported foundation.
  • Ensure adequate drainage around the container to prevent standing water.
  • Keep the roof free of debris, snow accumulation, and excessive loads.
  • Inspect the container periodically for signs of wear or damage.
  • Lubricate door hinges, locking bars, and moving hardware as needed.
  • Repair minor surface rust promptly using appropriate rust treatment and protective coatings.
  • Maintain paint finishes where necessary to help protect exposed steel.
  • Follow the manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations for refrigeration units, HVAC systems, electrical components, and other installed equipment.
  • Avoid exposing the container to corrosive chemicals or environments without appropriate protection.

Failure to perform reasonable maintenance may affect warranty eligibility where lack of maintenance contributes directly to the reported issue.

16. Inspection Upon Delivery

Customers, or their authorized representative, should inspect the container immediately upon delivery whenever reasonably possible.

During the inspection, customers should verify:

  • Correct container size and specifications.
  • Exterior condition.
  • Interior condition.
  • Roof, walls, and flooring.
  • Door alignment and operation.
  • Locking hardware.
  • Any custom modifications included with the order.
  • General structural condition.

If any visible concerns are identified, customers should:

  • Record the issue on the delivery receipt before signing.
  • Take clear photographs of the affected areas.
  • Notify Target Box Container Sales as soon as reasonably possible, preferably within 72 hours of delivery.

Failure to report visible delivery-related issues promptly may limit available warranty remedies for conditions that were clearly apparent at the time of delivery.
